My Powdered Produce Story
It was the year from hell.....2008!
I learned about this Whole Food, produce powder product standing in line at an amusement park I had taken my kids to. In Feb 2008 I was diagnosed with Moderate-Severe Crohns Disease. As an RN, I thought I knew all I needed to know about Crohns, but I was mistaken. Over the next few years, I added GERD, Fibromyalgia, Trigeminal Neuralgia and Chronic Fatigue to the list. I already had been diagnosed with Asthma, Allergies, Chronic Severe Atypical Suicidal Depression, Restless Leg Syndrome, L5-S1 Central Disc Protrusion, Levoscoliosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Sleep Apnea and
High Cholesterol (years earlier). My Body was LITERALLY yelling at me.
By the time I was at my sickest, I was on 26 daily pills, 2 inhalers and a handful of as needed medications. Twelve hospitalizations in 6 years (9-12 day stays), hair falling out in handfuls, sleeping 16-22 hrs a day, 10-20 bathroom runs a day, aspirating on my vomit in the middle of the night, not being able to eat the nutrients I knew could help me, this was my daily life!
In 2012, after paying $5 monthly on patient assistance through the pharmaceutical company's "patient assistance program", I faced a $400/mth copay for one drug when I was approved for SSD/Medicare. That one drug was what was suppressing my immune system from attacking my digestive system, but as a single mom, now on disability, I couldn't afford that anymore. I felt God STRONGLY reminding me about this whole food produce powder product that I had learned about years earlier.
Having lost my sister in '09 to brain cancer, leaving behind my niece (16) and Nephew (14), I knew I couldn't do that to my kids and I threw my "Hail Mary". That's when my HEALth recovery began.
I started making one simple change a month. My first one was adding nutrient dense powdered produce to my daily routine. The next month was adding more water. I eventually added decreasing dairy and gluten, and eating more whole food products. Each month building another improvement onto the habit built the month before.
Slowly, and to my surprise, I got off all my medications in 2 1/2 years (with my doctors supervision)and in 2015 was diagnosed in remission with Crohns Disease. This was the first time, since diagnosis, 7 years earlier, that I was classified, "In remission" .
Now, all these years later, still off all pharma medications, no hospitalizations since 2016, living life again, managing my HEALth and WELLness using natural, functional/Holistic medicine, being able to eat all the fruits and veggies and whole food I want to, I now understand my body's language and the true power of Gods FARMacy!
Understanding how to have a symbiotic relationship with my body, and the amazing benefits of being able to speak it's language, is the best gift I've gotten from being so incredibly sick.
